Coming from behind 0-2 until halftime, Arsenal's 3-2 win over Aston Villa in the FA Cup fourth round match at the Emirates on Sunday (1/29/2012). According to Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger at halftime he told his students that the circumstances behind two goals is the test of their mental.
"At halftime, I said that this is a test to show that we have the mental strength to get up. We respond well in the second half against Manchester United (22 January) and we re-do it today," said Wenger.
"I am very impressed by the spirit of this team. You can lament the fate or show that you have the mental strength to play for this club. I hope we will also rise in the Premier League," he added.
In the match against Manchester United, 22 January, the Arsenal left earlier due to Antonio Valencia scored in the 45th minute. Van Persie took Arsenal equalized in the 71st minute. Arsenal eventually lost due to Danny Welbeck scored in the 81st minute.
In the game against Villa, the first goal (54) and third (61) Arsenal's Robin van Persie was created from the penalty spot in the 54th minute and 61st. The second goal happened because Alan Hutton thrown ball that bounced into the goal after contact with Theo Walcott, in the 57th minute.
"We want to win the FA Cup. We need to show the fans that we are ready to champion. (Victory over Villa) shows we have character. We need a little luck. Good luck on our side," said Walcott.
